SMMA District 18 VALSPAR appleal 2-3-20

Brothers, Sisters, Family, Friends we need your help……… The SUNCOAST MASTER MASONS ASSOCIATION for district 18, needs your help, we need volunteers to help us man a food tent at the VALSPAR OPEN GOLF event at INNISBROOK GOLF COURSE this march 16th – 22nd below is a list of dates and times we still need to fill. call Patrick Lynch 727-409-2957 or email vip1270@gmail.com or pclsal1@yahoo.com or pclsal1@gmail.com asap. The food tent is on the PGA Golf Course it is quite a Beautiful Course, we serve hamburgers, hotdogs, etc you can work at the counter , sales, or in the back preparing food, it is very low key and laid back, Lunch is provided to you as well as parking, this will be are 2nd year for this event, the proceeds go to the Grand Masters Homecoming at the Masonic home , which you are invited too, and Charity, please help we need it. here is a link to the event

 New Calendar – the Selama Secretary has a new calendar for use of the Selama Grotto building. It is posted outside of his office. If your event at the Grotto is not listed there then it is not happening at the Grotto. Consult him early and in writing. Conflicts resolved by dueling pistols. Money helps avoid conflicts.

September News in the Zendah Realm

 Hello to all in the Realm!
 
Hope everyone is doing well and finding missing the main part of the storm a relief. We do have Brothers and Prophets in the State and a broad that are in need from the storm. Please contact Supreme Grotto or The Grand Lodge of Florida to see how to help those in need. We here at Zendah only had wind and rain. We had some debris and limbs down but they were easily cleaned up. This meeting (Sep 16th, 2019) we will have 2 candidates for initiation at our Grotto. They will have quite the guest and members coming with them, Our Most Worshipful Grand Master of the States of Florida John Westerman III with some of his Grand Officers and Deputy Grand Monarch Tali Atala from the Supreme Grotto line. It is always an honor at Zendah when we welcome a Brother Mason in our Grotto, but this upcoming meeting will be truly special. For those that do not remember we have hospitality hours before dinner starting at 5:30pm and an hour after our meeting where you can partake in our Lounge with smoking  facilities for all those who enjoy a good cigar with fellowship. Our dinner will start as always at 6:30pm provided by Prophet Joe Casaccia and meeting to follow at 7:30pm. 
 
Updates on the property and clubs:
Before and after the storms the property was cleaned up outside for safety. We have parts on order for our beer tap as we had a valve failure. We will be doing some pest control and weed taming on the grounds this month, so look for any warning papers on the doors if there is any fumes that could be still inside. We have a new water heating on order for the kitchen as the one in there currently is on its last leg. We will be updating the signage lighting this month, as well as the lights in the meeting rooms. Also as most of you know from when we first came to this property, I have schedule for cleaning the carpets (every 3 months). So for the month of October I will be cleaning those carpets so look out for me and my scrub brush. Our motor club unit is on the way we have setup our orders for the trailer and carts. This is a process as we are learning. WE have the bylaws from our old unit and will be putting the finishing touches on presenting a final copy for review. It looks as we talk between the people that are interested in the club that uniforms should be comfortable with the Florida heat and look professional to match the carts. These carts will be a lot of work, but I think you all will be proud and excited to see if we expand the motor unit. Our Clown Unit is ran by PM Joker and I hope anyone that loves kids and seeing those smiles give the clown unit a go! Our Honor Guard Unit is still up and running and looks sharp. If anyone remembers our Honor Guard unit was used at Supreme Convention for Flag Presentation during the meeting and led the Parade down the streets of Mobile. I would urge any of our members to please get involved with this units as they are a great way to represent the Grotto and have a great time in the process. 
 
Events:
Please look into the future for another Master Mason Degree at the Grotto and as always a great dinner before hand. I hope that the members remember the property is yours to enjoy and with the way our future is going it will be a busy place to be! We will be having an honor night to recognize our Doctor Smile Emeritus PM Willy and our Past Monarch soon, please look times and dates forth coming. We have had a great partnership with our event space renters and I hope for any that want to see what’s going on to stop by. The church that rents from us, have services at 10:30am each Sunday. This meeting we will be getting the dates for the Halloween Party for one our charities we support, The United Cerebral Palsy Clinic of Tampa Bay. Please remember these kids enjoy the parties we do, but even more getting to see their friends in the Fezzes. Please come out and support this great event. I will send out the dates as soon I get them. 
 
New fez cases are in and the new double case will be her this week. Please remember if you know a member that you see did nit get this or would like to know our information please forward this to them and send me their email address. Due to certain medical and working constrictions the Secretary and Treasure will not be at this meeting but look forward to seeing you all soon! I hope the reaches you all in good health and hope you enjoy the fall season coming!
